HP Envy 5055 wireless All-in-One Printer Reviews– HP Envy 5055 All-in-One photo printer is a robust multifunctional injet printer. Installation is easy, and performance is good quality. The text is crisp and the photos are printed neatly and the colors are good. After unboxing, you can remove the ribbon sides, open the cover and take the glass protector, open the printer and remove the cardboad Insert, open the HP Smart App and follow the instructions to install the ink cartridges and finish the Setup.

The 5055 is a monochrome touch screen that reacts moderately to touch. It’s not as pretty as a color touchscreen on 7155, but it worked perfectly for me all out of the box. And that it has deserved acceptance. This isn’t great if you’re doing a lot of high volume printing, but it’s just fine if you’re primarily using this as a photo printer. The printer also feeds from the bottom and doesn’t seem to have a manual feed tray. I had hesitated loading this up with thicker cardstocks or envelopes. I work with commercial printers every day, so I’m used to a very high level where color printing is concerned.

The print quality of the envy is ‘ good ‘. It’s far from the best I’ve ever seen (commercial printers and even some other home printers do much better), but it’s not bad in any way. I noticed that the contrast of my printed image was more than a bit off compared to what was featured on my monitor. The brights were much brighter and the dark circles were much darker. After a few minutes of adjusting my photos, there is a Photo Editor to easily compensate for this though.

This printer is compatible with HP Instant Ink. This is an optional feature. You can override this option if you only want to use the printer with a traditional printer. At the time of this review HP offers free “15 pages per month ” plan. Basically how this works is that the printer is constantly connected to the Internet and report to the HP how many pages you have printed and how much ink is in the ink cartridges. When the ink runs out, HP automatically sends a new cartridge (no extra charge). That being said, you’re only getting a fixed amount of prints per month. If you go over that, then you have to pay overdose fees.
